post production
We have a range of post production facilities at The Session. Once you have recorded your music and mastered it down onto your chosen media we can cater for…
CD Duplication and Printing
No matter how large or small your CD run, we can make as many copies of your music as you need. Whether you want a handful for your band and sending off as demo’s or you want to take CD’s out with you to sell at gigs or on tour we can produce as many as you want!
CD's are copied to Red Book standard and can be burnt onto as many disks as you want. We only use Sony recordable media in either a white or silver printable finish.
You then have the option of having the CD printed using a high quality inkjet CD printer for a professional finish (the design is printed directly onto the CD without the use of unsightly labels).
CD Sleeve design and printing
If you want to produce even more professional CD’s we can offer the design and printing of the CD sleeves as well as the disk itself.
You have the choice of designing the cover art yourself or guiding us in having the artwork designed for you by commission.
We use external contractors for our artwork design and the printing of the CD sleeves. If you decide to supply the artwork yourself, the files must show the designs to the correct size (for standard jewel cases) as follows:
Front Panel Insert:
122mm x 122mm plus 3mm 'bleed' * on all sides to allow for accuarate cutting of the panels.
Rear tray Insert:
140mm (+7mm tab at each end for the spine print) x 120mm plus 3mm 'bleed' * on all sides to allow for accuarate cutting of the panels.
Please note that the post production process can be fairly lengthy as it all takes time to setup and produce, especially with the design of the artwork, so please make sure you leave plenty of time for this process.
* The bleed is an area of background artwork or plain colour that contains no essential print or design. This enables the printer to trim the document so that the image is at the edge, but there must be some part of the image that gets trimmed off (or else you will have a white stripe of the paper showing). The amount that gets trimmed off is the 'bleed'.
