digital studio skills courses
We offer a range of studio experiences aimed at covering various aspects of KS4 GSCE / BTEC and A-level music, music technology and any other media related courses.
The classes are generally broken down into smaller groups (max of 5) so that each student can get the most out of the experience. The groups rotate around the various workshops, each of which lasts approximately 30 minutes.
The workshops can be completely tailored to your needs to cover the parts of the syllabus you would prefer to meet with us, however, the following is a general guide to what's covered:
A tour of the rehearsal rooms and studio with an explanation of the acoustic treatments and soundproofing that has been installed.
An explanation of how the facility is used on a day-to-day basis, (briefly) how the music industry works and how we fit into the bigger picture.
A detailed practical demonstration of the recording process - students take it in turns to be the "performers" and "producers" with a very hands-on approach through-out.
Guitar have-a-go sessions.
Drum have-a-go session.
Giant guitar hero - projected onto a big screen, just a bit of fun but great for building teamwork, sharing skills and a cultural understanding of popular music.
Please note we have a common rom with 'tuck shop' at the studios where food/drink snacks can be purchased - please inform our staff if you'd prefer this service to be restricted. We don't sell energy drinks to under 18's.
